Course Outline

Day 1

Onboarding and Preliminary Preparations

Arrangement of materials, participant check-in, and provision of refreshments

Module 1: Building Confidence for the Stage

Exploring the critical link between self-confidence and successful public speaking and personal expression

Activity 1: Introducing Myself

Participants will take the stage to share personal insights, an exercise designed to foster confidence and self-esteem.

Module 2: The Power of Influence and Persuasion – How to Captivate Your Audience

A discussion on the significance of conveying ideas that resonate, inspire, and command attention.

Activity 2: The Blindfolded Guide

Teams of three will collaborate to build a tower using alternating LEGO or building blocks while two members are blindfolded. One designated “captain,” who remains unblindfolded, will guide the team solely through verbal instructions. One blindfolded participant will execute the construction, while the other relays the captain’s directions.

Reflection and Discussion Session

A recap and analysis of the key takeaways from the preceding activities

Module 3: The Architecture of Public Speaking

An examination of the structural components of a speech, preparation methodologies, and essential considerations for effective delivery. 

Activity 3: Crafting a Narrative

Participant groups will collaboratively develop a story based on a single source topic

Module 4: Structuring and Delivering Your Speech

Focused on organizing thought processes, identifying effective delivery strategies, and preparing for personal presentation styles.

Culminating Reflection and Assignment Presentation

Participants will select one of the provided topics for a discussion lasting between 5 to 10 minutes.

Activity 1: Public Presentation of Assigned Topics

Module 5: Integrating Public Speaking with the Digital Landscape

Requirements

  • A foundational understanding of basic communication skills, idea delivery, and social media engagement.
  • Prior experience in client communication, customer relations, or general public speaking and discussion.
