Presentation Delivery

  • Deliver a pre-prepared presentation on a work-related topic of the delegate’s choice.

Note: The duration of each presentation will vary based on the course length and the number of participants. A group size of eight is considered optimal.

  • Comprehensive one-to-one and group feedback

Preparation: The Content

  • Key questions for the presenter to consider in advance:
    • Why me?
    • Logistics: what, where, when, how, and for how long?
    • How do these factors influence the structure of the presentation?
  • Structuring the material:
    • Research – Ensure a deep understanding of the subject
    • Organising the content logically
    • Designing and utilising effective visual aids

Preparation: The Presenter

  • The three core communication tools for any presenter:
    • Verbal – Choosing appropriate words while avoiding slang and jargon
    • Vocal – Mastering tone and sound to eliminate distracting verbal tics
    • Visual – Managing appearance, including dress, mannerisms, and stage presence
  • Rehearsing the presentation and obtaining honest feedback from trusted sources
  • Managing nervousness effectively

Setting the Stage

  • Room layouts – Understanding how seating arrangements convey underlying messages to the audience
  • Optimising the physical environment to enhance the presentation experience

Presentation Skills – Advanced Review

  • Deliver a second presentation following a suitable preparation period.

Note: This may involve revising the presentation from the first module based on detailed feedback.

  • Comprehensive one-to-one and group feedback

Presentation Skills – Final Practice

  • If time allows: Deliver an additional presentation after adequate preparation
  • Receive full one-to-one and group feedback
