Consulting Requirements for Superset
A major financial services firm sought to transition from a leading proprietary BI solution within one of its key products to an open-source alternative (Superset), aiming to achieve significant reductions in licensing costs.
Deliverables
NobleProg conducted extensive project meetings with the client to thoroughly assess requirements, project scope, potential risks, and the existing technical landscape. From this analysis, we developed a detailed Statement of Work to serve as the roadmap for tracking and guiding the project. Our lead consultant focused on aligning the current data architecture with the specific reporting needs of each report type. Recommendations were made to optimize the data stores for maximum efficiency in Superset while ensuring high performance, and the implementation team received direct guidance in executing these changes. After refining the data store and pipeline, our consultants began constructing and deploying a range of reports, addressing both pre-existing requirements and new requests from the business and its customers. To meet specific presentation needs, custom plug-ins were developed to enhance interactivity, including features such as data drill-downs.
Outcome
The consulting team has successfully built new dashboards while simultaneously ensuring that the client’s organization has the necessary internal knowledge to maintain these dashboards and reports independently.
The project is currently ongoing and has received positive feedback from both the client’s internal teams and their end-users. Demonstrating the project’s success, it has been expanded to encompass additional products and serve a broader client base.
